A Loving Husband

A loving husband, father and grandfather too, Each one thought the world of you, For us you always did your best, God grant your soul eternal rest. Softly in the afternoon, You heard a gentle call, You took the hand God offered you, And quietly left us all. On that day you left us, Our hearts just broke in two, The smallest part is still with us, And the biggest part with you. We miss your smile, your joking ways, We miss the things you used to say, And when old times we do recall, It’s then we miss you most all all.

A Loving Mother And Grandmother

A loving mother and grandmother so true, No one on earth we’ll find like you, For us you always did your best, God grant your soul eternal rest. We lost a mother with a heart of gold, How much we miss her can never be told, She shared our troubles and helped us along, If we follow her footsteps, We will never go wrong. We miss you from your fireside chair, Your loving smile and gentle air, Your vacant place no one can fill, We miss you mother and always will. The golden gates stood open, God saw you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful, He only akes the best.

A Mhuire na nGrást (Irish Prayer)

‘S a Mháthair Mhic Dé Go gcuire tú mé ar mo leas. Go sábhála tú mé Ó gach uile olc Go sábhála tú mé Idir anam is chorp. Go sábhála tú mé Ar muir is ar tír Go sábhála tú mé Ar leic na bpian. Gárda na nAingeal Ós mo chionn Dia romham Agus Dia liom. Áimeán.

A Mother’s Prayer

You can only have one mother, Patient, kind and true, No other friend in all the world, Will be the same to you. When other friends forsake you, To mother you will return, For all her loving kindness, She asks nothing in return. When we look upon her picture, Sweet memories we recall, Of a face so full of sunshine, And a smile for one and all. Sweet Jesus, take this message, To our dear mother up above, Tell her how miss her, And give her all our love.

A Nurse’s Prayer

Give me strength and wisdom,
When others need my touch;
A soothing word to speak to them,
Their hearts yearn for so much.

Give me joy and laughter,
To lift a weary soul;
Pour in me compassion,
To make the broken whole.

Give me gentle, healing hands,
For those left in my care;
A blessing to those who need me,
This is a Nurse’s prayer.

After Glow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an after-glow of smiles when life is done. I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

As Each Day Dawns

As each day dawns we think of you, As each night falls we pray for you, And throughout our lives no matter where, In our hearts you are always there.

Because we Believe

Because we Believe. Once in every life there comes a time, We walk out all alone and into the light, The moment won’t last, but then we remember it again. When we close our eyes, We’ll meet again.

Beseech Thee O’Lord

Hear we beseech Thee O’Lord, Our prayers which we humbly Address to Thy mercy, That the soul of Thy servant, Which Thou, Has called out of this world, May be received into the region of light and peace and be numbered amongst the blessed, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Blessed John Henry Newman

May the Lord support us All the day long, ‘Till the shadows lengthen, And evening comes, And the busy world is hushed, And the fever of life is over, And our work is done. Then in His mercy May He give us a safe lodging, And a holy rest, And peace at the end.

Blessed John Henry Newman

Comfort

Another leaf has fallen, Another soul has gone, But still we have God’s promises, In every robin’s song. For He is in Heaven, And though he takes away, He always leaves to mortals, The bright sun’s kindly ray’s. He leaves the fragrant blossoms, And lovely green forest, And gives us new found comfort, When we on him we lean.

Dad

Dad you weren’t just a Dad to me, you were also a good friend. Someone who meant so much to me who can’t be replaced ever again. I’ll cry but I’ll also laugh at the memories I will hold. I will never let them go. When I have babies I know they’ll love you so much, they’ll look up to the heavens and say Grandad, can you see us? When it is my time to go wait for me at heavens door. Come out and greet me, and we will be together forever more.

Distance Takes Us Far Apart

Distance takes us far apart, And darkens my today, I have to keep remembering, You’re just a thought away. When the world is too confusing, Times are hard to bear, I pull your precious meaning, Your bright spirit, from the air. If I sometimes drift into A lonely state of mind, I gather up the memories, Of days we left behind. And though you’re not beside me, I can tap into my heart, And draw upon the warmth and love, That lives when we’re apart. And with these fond reflections, On the times when you were near, I sense a little bit of what, It’s like to have you here.

Do Not Stand At My Grave

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn rain, When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine in the night, Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.

Eternal Rest

Eternal rest grant unto her O’Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her and may her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in Peace. Amen.

Family Prayer

Just a prayer from the family who loved you, Just a memory fond and true, In our hearts you will live forever, Because we thought the world of you.

Father

We lost a father with a heart of gold, How much we miss him can never be told, He shared our troubles and helped us along, If we follow his footsteps we can never go wrong. We miss you from your fireside chair, Your loving smile and gentle air, Your vacant place no one can fill, We miss you father and always will. Each time we look at your picture, You seem to smile and say, Don’t be sad but courage take, And love each other for my sake.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. “LORD you said once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me”. The LORD replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trials and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you”.

For Loved Ones Left Behind

The life that bring us happiness, Can quickly turn unkind, And bring a grief that’s hard to bear, For loved ones left behind. On the morning of your birthday, You heard a gentle call, You took the hand God offered you, And quietly left us all. God saw you getting tired, A cure was not to be, He put his arms around you, And whispered “come to me!” We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore, We did our best to the end, ‘Til we could do no more. With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away, Although we loved you dearly, We knew you could not stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Forget your troubles and your worries

Don’t remember me with sadness, Don’t remember me with tears, Remember all the laughter, We’ve had throughout the years. Then when the summer sunshine, Awakes the flowers in bloom, I’ll walk that light from Heaven, Around the corners of every room. Do the things we did before, The same in every way, Just whisper a little prayer to me, At the dawn of every day. Just think of me as present, Don’t think of me as past, Forget your troubles and your worries, They’re mine forever more. I’ll watch and care and love you, From Heaven’s open door.

Galway Girl

That beautiful face and crown of red hair, Those big strong hands always there, That zest for life and all things fun, What a wonderful wife, granny and mum. You loved to drive and dance and sing, Look on the bright side that was your thing, A proud Irish woman who loved Galway and Clare, Your love and devotion in people is rare. Life threw you sadness loss and grief, But you only stopped for a while to weep, Then carry on with a heavy heart and light step, No mountain too high or hill too steep. With freckles and red hair on a small little girl, You certainly knew how to handle a hurl, A lovely voice and singer of songs, You were without doubt our special Galway Girl.

Glór Don Athair (Irish Prayer)

Glór don Athair, Agus don Mhac, Agus don Spiorad Naomh. Mar a bhí ó thús, Mar atá anois, Mar a bheas go brách, Le saol na saol. Áiméan.

God Called Your Name

God called your name so softly, That only you could hear, And no one heard the footsteps, Of Angels drawing near. The golden gates stood open, God saw you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.

God Of Love And Mercy

Lonely is the home without you, Life to us is not the same, All the world would be like Heaven, If we could have you back again. A light is from our household gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled. The happy hours we once enjoyed, How sweet their memory still, But death has left a vacant place, This world can never fill. How dearly we loved you, And prayed you might live, But Jesus just beckoned, And we had to give. May the God of Love and Mercy, Care for our loved one who is gone, And bless with consolation, Those left to carry on.

God’s Garden

The Lord God planted a garden In the first white days of the world, And He set there an angel warden In a garment of light enfurled. So near to the peace of Heaven, That the hawk might nest with the wren, For there in the cool of the even God walked with the first of men. And I dream that these garden-closes With their shade and their sun-flecked sod, And their lilies and bowers of roses, Were laid by the hand of God. The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth, One is nearer God’s heart in a garden, Than anywhere else on earth. For He broke it for us in a garden Under the olive-trees, Where the angel of strength was the warden, And the soul of the world found ease. Dorothy Frances Gurney.

God’s Lent Child

“I’ll lend you for a little while A child of mine” God said – For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he’s dead. It may be six or seven years or forty two or three but will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He’ll bring his charms to gladden you and, should his stay be brief, you’ll have his nicest memories as solace for his grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return but, there are lessons taught below, I want this child to learn. I’ve looked the whole world over, in my search for teachers true, and from the things that crowd life’s lane I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labour vain, nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again?

God’s Garden

God looked around His garden And saw an empty space, He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. God knew you were in pain And a cure was not to be, So He closed your weary eye-lids And whispered come to me. With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you slip away, Although we loved you dearly We knew you could not stay. It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home.

Hail Mary Full Of Grace

Mary full of grace, Mother of God guide me on the right path. May you save me, from every evil may you save me body and soul. May you save me at sea and on land; may you save me from hell. A guard of angels over me; God before me, and God with me.

Her Smile

Though her smile is gone forever, And her hand we cannot touch, We still have so many memories, Of the one we loved so much. Her memory is our keepsake, With which we’ll never part, God has her in his keeping, We have her in our hearts.

His Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of him as gone away, His journey’s just begun, Life holds so many facets, This earth is only one. Just think of him as resting, From the sorrows and the tears, In a place of warmth and comfort, Where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing, That we could know today, How nothing but our sadness, Can really pass away. And think of him as living, In the hearts of those he touched, For nothing loved is ever lost, And he was loved so much.

I Am home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty, In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last.

I Must Go Down To The Sea

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking. I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way, where the wind’s like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over.

I Need You God

I need you God each day of life, I need you everywhere, When I am filled with joy, And when my heart is in despair. I need you when I have success, To keep reminding me, The only glory worth my while, Is in eternity. I need you when I falter, And I fall along the way, When I am miserable, dear God, And all the skies are grey, For only you can save me, When I am about to sink. And only you can help my mind, The way it ought to think, I need you God – please give me all, The grace and strength to win, Your blessing for each effort, And forgiveness for each sin.

I Remember

I remember the day I met you, And the day God made you mine, I remember the day he took you, And will to the end of time. We made our vows together, Till death do us part, But when God came and took you, My whole world fell apart. The years we spent together, I keep within my heart, For they hold special memories, Which will never let us part. But I never knew such loneliness, Could bring such bitter pain, That memories would return to me, And wound my heart again. So even in deep despair I know that, Each tear I shed would grieve your heart, That loved me, So I’ll try and smile instead, If I searched the whole world through. I would not have found a wife like you, I think of you always, And miss you more each day, My heart is broken, What more can I say.

I’m Here

There is a place I’ve heard of where the roses are always red and where, at last, pain and suffering is no more, and you can walk in, take off your aches, sit down, all fears gone, and say: Hello God. I’m here”.

Lonely Is The Home

Lonely is the home without you, Life to us is not the same, All the world would be like heaven, If we could have you back again. A light is from our household gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled. May the God of love and mercy, Care for our loved one who is gone, And bless with consolation, Those left to carry on. The happy hours we once enjoyed, How sweet their memory still, But death has left a vacant place, This world can never fill. How dearly we loved you, And prayed you might live, But Jesus just beckoned, And we had to give. God gave us strength to bear it, And courage to fight the blow, What it has meant to lose you, God alone will ever know.

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little – but not too long, And not with your head bowed low: Remember the love that we once shared, Miss Me – But let me go. For this is a journey we all must make, And each must go alone, It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, A step on the road to Home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrow, In doing good deeds, Miss me – But let me go.

Missed Prayer

Missed in the morning of everyday, Missed in the evening as light fades away, Missed in a thousand and on little ways, Around every corner a memory stays. You gave us years of happiness, Then sorrow came with tears, You left us lovely memories, We will treasure through the years. May you rest in peace dear …., Is now our daily prayer, We thank you ……. for everything, Your love and all your care. Sweet Jesus take this message, To our dear Father up above, Tell him how we miss him, And give him all our love.

Mother

Two tired eyes are sleeping, Two willing hands are still, The one who worked so hard for us, Is resting at God’s will. Our lips cannot speak how we loved you, Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God only knows how we miss her, In our home that is lonely today. Your life was love and labour, Your love for your family true; You did your best for all of us, We will always remember you. In a near and silent graveyard, Where the trees their branches wave, Sleeps a kind and loving Mother, And her Husband in their grave. She was a Mother so very rare, Content in her home and always there, On earth she toiled, in heaven she rests, God bless you Mother, you were the best.

Mother Poem

Gone from our home that smiling face,
The cheerful happy ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone happy days.

Lonely is the home without you,
Life to us is not the same,
All the world would be like Heaven,
If we could have you back again.

In dreams we see her smiling face,
And kiss her tender brow,
But in our aching hearts we know,
We have no mother now.

My Rosary

What comfort just to clasp it, My rosary so dear, Each mystery brings fresh courage, And drives away all fear. In prayer so oft repeated, Yet never growing old, I read the wondrous story, Of God’s own love unfold. Each chaplet forms a garland, To place at Mary’s feet, Fair buds and full-bloom roses, Exhaling fragrance sweet. The crucifix which crowns it, Reminds me day by day, To bravely bear my crosses, Along earth’s rugged way. I hope when life is ended, And death shall set me free, Still twined around my fingers, Will be my Rosary.

Novena to St. Martha

St. Martha, I resort to thy aid and protection. As proof of my affection and faith, I offer thee this light, which I shall burn every Tuesday. Comfort me in all my difficulties and through the great favors thou didst enjoy when the Saviour was lodged in thy house, intercede for my family, that we be provided for in our necessities. I ask of thee, St. Martha, to overcome all difficulties as thou didst overcome the dragon which thou hadst at thy feet. Amen. (pray for 9 consecutive Tuesdays)

O Angle Of God

O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day, be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

O Sweet Jesus

O Sweet Jesus, for the sake of Thy Bitter Passion and the sorrows of Thy Immaculate Mother, have mercy on his soul, and let the light of Thy Countenance shine upon him. Amen.

Our Lady Of Knock

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to your people in a time of distress, and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.” Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick, lonely or depressed. Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the Holy Mass. Give me a greater love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen. Our Lady of Knock, pray for us.

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful grant to the souls of Thy servants departed, the full remission of their sins, that through pious supplications they may obtain the pardon which they have always desired. Who livest and reignest world without end. Amen.

Prayer of Cardinal Newman

O Lord, Support us all the day long,
Until the shadows lengthen and the
evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy
grant us a safe lodging,
a holy rest, and peace at the last,
through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console.
To be understood as to understand.
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive, it is in forgiving that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Prayer to Our Blessed Mother

Take my hand O Blessed Mother, Hold me firmly lest I fall, I am nervous when I am walking, And to thee I humbly call. Guide me over every crossing, Watch me when I am on my way, Let me know you are beside me, Listen to my frequent prayers. Bring me to my destination, Safely every single day, Help me with my understanding, As the hours pass away. And when evening falls upon me, And I fear to be alone, Take my hand O Blessed Mother, And once again guide me home.

Prayer to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina

O Jesus, full of grace and chairty, victim for sinners, so impelled by Your love for us that You willed to die on the cross, I humbly beseech You to glorify in heaven and on earth the servant of God, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, who generously participated in Your sufferings, who loved You so much and laboured so faithfull for the glory of souls. With confidence I beseech You to grant me through his intercession, the grace of . . . . which I ardently desire. Glory be to the father . . . .

(Three times).

Prayer to Saint Thérèse

Saint Thérèse, the Little Flower of
Jesus, please pick a rose from the
heavenly garden, and send it
to me with a message of love.
I ask you to obtain for me
the favors that I seek
(here mention your request).
Recommend my request to Mary,
Queen of Heaven, so that she
may intercede for me, with you,
before her Son, Jesus Christ.
If this favor is granted, I will love
you more and more, and be better
prepared to spend eternal
happiness with you in heaven.
Saint Thérèse of the Little Flower,
pray for me.

Prayer to St. Joseph the Worker

Joseph by the work of your hands and
the sweat of your brow, you supported
Jesus and Mary, and had the Son of God
as your fellow worker. Teach me to work
as you did, with patience and
perseverance, for God and for those
whom God has given me to support.
Teach me to see in my fellow workers the
Christ who desires to be in them, that I
may always be charitable and forbearing
towards all. Grant me to look upon work
with the eyes of faith, so that I shall
recognise in it my share in God’s own
creative activity and in Christ’s work of
our redemption, and so to take pride in it.
When it is pleasant and productive,
remind me to give thanks to God for it.
And when it is burdensome, teach me to
offer it to God, in reparation for my sins
and the sins of the worked.
Amen.

Prayer To St. Monica

All I ask is that wherever you may be, you will always remember me at Holy Communion and at the foot of the Altar. – St. Monica.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart with
Your holy gifts. Let my weakness be
penetrated with Your strength this very
day that I may fulfill all the duties of my
state conscientiously, that I may do what
is right and just. Let my charity be such
as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s
feelings; so generous as to pardon
sincerely any wrong done to me. Assist
me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life,
enlighten me in my ignorance, advise me
in my doubts, strengthen me in my
weakness, help me in all my needs,
protect me in temptations and console me
in afflictions. Graciously hear me, O Holy
Spirit and pour Your light into my heart,
mind, and soul. Assist me to live a holy
life and to grow in goodness and grace.
Amen.

Road To Eternity

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know, For some the journey’s quicker, For some the journey’s slow. But when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord.

Serenity Prayer

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

Softly In The Morning

Softly in the morning, You heard a gentle call, You took the hand God offered you, And quietly left us all. The day you left us ….., Our hearts just broke in two, The smallest part is still with us, And the biggest part with you. For the rest of our lives, We will miss you ………. Our secret tears still flow, Oh, how we really loved you, No one will ever know. We miss your smile, your joking ways, We miss the things you used to say, And when old times we do recall, It’s then we miss you most of all.

St. Ambrose

We hold you close within our hearts, And there you shall remain, To walk with us throughout our lives, Until we meet again. So rest in peace dear loved one, And thanks for all you’ve done, We pray that God has given you, The crown you’ve truly won. ‘We have loved her in life, Let us not forget her in death’. St. Ambrose

St. Bonaventure

Oh! you whom I have loved in life, pray for me and live in such a manner that we may be re-united forever in a Blessed Eternity. – St. Bonaventure.

Sudden Parting

It was a sudden parting, Too bitter to forget, Those who loved you dearly, Are the ones who can’t forget. We often sit and think of you, And think of how you died, To think you could not say goodbye, Before you closed your eyes. Your life was one of kindly deeds, A helping hand for others needs, Sincere and true in heart and mind, Beautiful memories left behind. The blow was hard, the shock severe, To part with one we loved so dear, Our loss is great, we’ll not complain, But trust in God to meet again. Two tired eyes are sleeping, Two willing hands are still, The one who worked so hard for us, Is resting at God’s will. Our family chain is broken, Nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The links shall join again.

The Hour Of Great Mercy

(Three o’Clock in the Afternoon) At three o’clock implore My mercy especially for siners and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passsion, particularly in my abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. “At this moment (of 3 o’Clock) I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water, which gushed from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

The Lord Is My Shepherd

The Lord is my Shepherd, There is nothing I shall want, Fresh and green are the pastures, Where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me, To revive my drooping spirit, He guides me along the right path, He is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness, No evil would I fear, You are there with your crook and your staff, With these you give me comfort. You have prepared a banquet for me, In the sight of my foes, My head you have anointed with oil, My cup is overflowing. Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me, All the days of my life, In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell, For ever and ever.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother, to thee I come; before thee I stand; sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

The Road Of Suffering

Along the road of suffering, You found a little lane, That took you up to heaven, And ended all your pain. You may be out of sight, We may be worlds apart; But you are always in our prayers, And forever in our hearts.

There is no night without a dawning

There is no night without a dawning, No Winter without a Spring, And beyond death’s dark horizon, Our hearts once more will sing. For those who leave us for a while, Have only gone away, Out of a restless careworn world, Into a “Brighter Day”.

To The Child Of My Heart

To the Child of My Heart, O precious, tiny sweet little one, You will always be to me, So perfect, pure and innocent, Just as you were meant to be. We dreamed of you and of your life, And all that it would be, We waited and longed for you, To come and join our family. We never had the chance to play, To laugh, to rock, to wiggle, We long to hold you, touch you, And to listen to you giggle. I’ll always be your mother, He’ll always be your dad, You will always be our child, The child that we had. But now you’re gone . . . But yet you’re here, You are our sorrow and our joy, There’s love in every tear. Just know our love goes deep and strong, We’ll forget you never, The child we had, but never had, And yet will have forever.

To those I have left behind

To those I have left behind, Some things I’d like to say, But first of all to let you know, That I’ve arrived o.k. I’m writing this from Heaven, Where I dwell with God above, Where there’s no more tears and sadness, There’s just eternal love. The day I had to leave you, When my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me, And said “I welcome you”. Please do not be unhappy, Just because I’m out of sight, Remember that I’m with you, Every morning, noon and night. And when you feel that gentle breeze, Or the wind upon your face, That’s me giving you a great big hug, Or just a soft embrace. And when it’s time for you to go, From that body to be free, Remember you’re not going, You are coming here to me. P.S. God sends His love.

Togetherness

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me as you used. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word it always was. Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that is ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be at is was before – only better, infinitely happier and forever – we will all be one together with Christ.

Two Tired eyes

Two tired eyes are sleeping, Two willing hands are still, The one who worked so hard for us, Is resting at God’s will. Our family chain is broken, Nothing seem’s the same, But as God calls us one by one, The links shall join again. We often sit and think of you, And think of how you died, To think you could not say goodbye, Before you closed your eyes. Now our hearts are broken, Never repaired again, For the day we meet in Heaven, We will all be back together again.

We hold you close

We hold you close within our hearts, And there you shall remain, To walk with us throughout our lives, Until we meet again. So rest in peace dear loved one, And thanks for all you’ve done, We pray that God has given you, The crown you’ve truly won.

We Sat Beside Your Bedside

We sat beside your bedside, Our hearts were crushed and sore; We did our duty to the end, ‘Til we could do no more. In tears we watched you sinking, We watched you fade away; And though our hearts were breaking, We knew you could not stay. You left behind some aching hearts, That loved you most sincere; We never shall and never will, Forget you, husband and father dear. For many years the family chain, Was closely linked together; But oh! that chain is broken now, The main link gone forever. The sunshine of our happy home, Must always clouded be; But Thou, O’Lord has sent this cross, We bear it all for Thee.

When I Must Leave You

When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not grieve and shed wild tears, And hug your sorrow to you through the years, But start out bravely with a gallant smile, And for my sake and in my name, Live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer, And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near, And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky.
