The Lord is my Shepherd, There is nothing I shall want, Fresh and green are the pastures, Where he gives me repose. Near restful waters he leads me, To revive my drooping spirit, He guides me along the right path, He is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness, No evil would I fear, You are there with your crook and your staff, With these you give me comfort. You have prepared a banquet for me, In the sight of my foes, My head you have anointed with oil, My cup is overflowing. Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me, All the days of my life, In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell, For ever and ever.

Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland, you gave hope to your people in a time of distress, and comforted them in sorrow. You have inspired countless pilgrims to pray with confidence to your divine Son, remembering His promise, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.” Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to heaven. Fill me with love and concern for my brothers and sisters in Christ, especially those who live with me. Comfort me when I am sick, lonely or depressed. Teach me how to take part ever more reverently in the Holy Mass. Give me a greater love for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death. Amen. Our Lady of Knock, pray for us.

Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console.
To be understood as to understand.
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive, it is in forgiving that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Joseph by the work of your hands and
the sweat of your brow, you supported
Jesus and Mary, and had the Son of God
as your fellow worker. Teach me to work
as you did, with patience and
perseverance, for God and for those
whom God has given me to support.
Teach me to see in my fellow workers the
Christ who desires to be in them, that I
may always be charitable and forbearing
towards all. Grant me to look upon work
with the eyes of faith, so that I shall
recognise in it my share in God’s own
creative activity and in Christ’s work of
our redemption, and so to take pride in it.
When it is pleasant and productive,
remind me to give thanks to God for it.
And when it is burdensome, teach me to
offer it to God, in reparation for my sins
and the sins of the worked.
Amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart with
Your holy gifts. Let my weakness be
penetrated with Your strength this very
day that I may fulfill all the duties of my
state conscientiously, that I may do what
is right and just. Let my charity be such
as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s
feelings; so generous as to pardon
sincerely any wrong done to me. Assist
me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life,
enlighten me in my ignorance, advise me
in my doubts, strengthen me in my
weakness, help me in all my needs,
protect me in temptations and console me
in afflictions. Graciously hear me, O Holy
Spirit and pour Your light into my heart,
mind, and soul. Assist me to live a holy
life and to grow in goodness and grace.
Amen.

Give me strength and wisdom,
When others need my touch;
A soothing word to speak to them,
Their hearts yearn for so much.

Give me joy and laughter,
To lift a weary soul;
Pour in me compassion,
To make the broken whole.

Give me gentle, healing hands,
For those left in my care;
A blessing to those who need me,
This is a Nurse’s prayer.

Saint Thérèse, the Little Flower of
Jesus, please pick a rose from the
heavenly garden, and send it
to me with a message of love.
I ask you to obtain for me
the favors that I seek
(here mention your request).
Recommend my request to Mary,
Queen of Heaven, so that she
may intercede for me, with you,
before her Son, Jesus Christ.
If this favor is granted, I will love
you more and more, and be better
prepared to spend eternal
happiness with you in heaven.

O Lord, Support us all the day long,
Until the shadows lengthen and the
evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy
grant us a safe lodging,
a holy rest, and peace at the last,
through Christ Jesus, our Lord.
