Eternal Rest

Eternal rest grant unto her O’Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her and may her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in Peace. Amen.

Beseech Thee O’Lord

Hear we beseech Thee O’Lord, Our prayers which we humbly Address to Thy mercy, That the soul of Thy servant, Which Thou, Has called out of this world, May be received into the region of light and peace and be numbered amongst the blessed, Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. “LORD you said once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed you most you would leave me”. The LORD replied, “My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trials and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you”.

The Hour Of Great Mercy

(Three o’Clock in the Afternoon) At three o’clock implore My mercy especially for siners and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passsion, particularly in my abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. “At this moment (of 3 o’Clock) I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes request of Me in virtue of My Passion.” You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water, which gushed from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

God’s Garden

The Lord God planted a garden In the first white days of the world, And He set there an angel warden In a garment of light enfurled. So near to the peace of Heaven, That the hawk might nest with the wren, For there in the cool of the even God walked with the first of men. And I dream that these garden-closes With their shade and their sun-flecked sod, And their lilies and bowers of roses, Were laid by the hand of God. The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth, One is nearer God’s heart in a garden, Than anywhere else on earth. For He broke it for us in a garden Under the olive-trees, Where the angel of strength was the warden, And the soul of the world found ease. Dorothy Frances Gurney.

As Each Day Dawns

As each day dawns we think of you, As each night falls we pray for you, And throughout our lives no matter where, In our hearts you are always there.

St. Bonaventure

Oh! you whom I have loved in life, pray for me and live in such a manner that we may be re-united forever in a Blessed Eternity. – St. Bonaventure.

Novena to St. Martha

St. Martha, I resort to thy aid and protection. As proof of my affection and faith, I offer thee this light, which I shall burn every Tuesday. Comfort me in all my difficulties and through the great favors thou didst enjoy when the Saviour was lodged in thy house, intercede for my family, that we be provided for in our necessities. I ask of thee, St. Martha, to overcome all difficulties as thou didst overcome the dragon which thou hadst at thy feet. Amen. (pray for 9 consecutive Tuesdays)

O Angle Of God

O Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day, be at my side to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

God’s Lent Child

“I’ll lend you for a little while A child of mine” God said – For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he’s dead. It may be six or seven years or forty two or three but will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He’ll bring his charms to gladden you and, should his stay be brief, you’ll have his nicest memories as solace for his grief. I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return but, there are lessons taught below, I want this child to learn. I’ve looked the whole world over, in my search for teachers true, and from the things that crowd life’s lane I have chosen you. Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labour vain, nor hate me when I come to take this lent child back again?

Road To Eternity

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what’s to be, A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know, For some the journey’s quicker, For some the journey’s slow. But when the journey finally ends, We’ll claim a great reward, And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord.

Comfort

Another leaf has fallen, Another soul has gone, But still we have God’s promises, In every robin’s song. For He is in Heaven, And though he takes away, He always leaves to mortals, The bright sun’s kindly ray’s. He leaves the fragrant blossoms, And lovely green forest, And gives us new found comfort, When we on him we lean.
